DESCRIPTION
LCD1602A, or 1602 type liquid crystal LCD, is a kind of dot matrix module to show letters, numbers and characters and so on.
It is made up of 5x7 or 5x11 dot matrix positions; each position can display one character.
There is a period between two characters and a space between lines, thus separating characters and lines.
Model 1602 means it displays 2 lines of 16 characters.
Generally, the LCD1602 is driven via a parallel bus. LCD1602A can be configured for 8-bit and 4-bit driving.
If the 8-bit connection is used, almost all digital pins on the Arduino Uno board are occupied. If you want to connect other components such as sensors or buttons there will be no pins available. Therefore, the 4-bit connection is typically used.
